Years ago, my wife Julie and I worked with many concerned citizens to keep an abortion clinic out of Northwest Georgia. The mission to protect innocent life, born and unborn, has been at the core of my public service. As I run for reelection, I’m honored to say I am a Georgia Life Alliance Certified Pro-Life Candidate.

Georgia Life Alliance, which is the Georgia affiliate of National Right to Life, issued a letter recognizing my strong pro-life record and approved me as a Georgia Life Alliance Certified Pro-Life Candidate. 

In Georgia Life Alliance’s press release announcing the decision, Executive Director Emily Matson noted: “Congressman Tom Graves has a 100% pro-life voting record with the National Right to Life and other leading pro-life organizations. Tom cast at least eleven pro-life votes in the 114th Congress, each time proving his commitment to protecting the unborn and honoring the sanctity of human life.”

             On behalf of our five million members across the country, The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is proud to endorse your candidacy for the U.S. House of Representatives in the May 24, 2016, Republican primary in the 14^th Congressional District of Georgia.

            Based on your voting record on Second Amendment issues in the U.S. House of Representatives, you have earned the highest attainable rating, an “A+”, from NRA-PVF for this primary election. An “A+” is reserved for “a legislator with not only an excellent voting record on all critical NRA issues, but who has also made a vigorous effort to promote and defend the Second Amendment.”

            Your dedication to protecting the rights guaranteed by the Second Amendment has been demonstrated by your opposition to President Obama’s numerous attempts to ban lawfully owned firearms, ammunition and magazines. You recently opposed his anti-gun executive actions, and you have stood strong against the control agenda promoted by President Obama, Hillary Clinton and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

             As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, we thank you for fighting against the Obama administration’s unconstitutional attacks on our Second Amendment freedoms by ensuring the 2016 Omnibus Appropriations bill retained numerous pro-gun provisions, even in the face of stiff opposition from anti-gun advocates like Nancy Pelosi.

            Furthermore, your cosponsorship of H.R. 986, the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2015, is also greatly valued. This bill would ensure that law-abiding Americans with a valid concealed handgun permit are allowed to carry their concealed firearm in any other state that does not prohibit concealed carry. You cosponsored and voted for a similar bill that passed the U.S. House in 2011.

            In addition, we appreciate you signing a letter to the Obama administration opposing its recent attempt to ban commonly used ammunition for the most popular rifle in America, the AR-15. Furthermore, we applaud your vote for the Sportsmen’s Heritage and Recreational Enhancement Act, a bill that would promote America’s hunting heritage and positively impact sportsmen in Georgia and throughout the country.

            Finally, we also commend your vote for legislation that prohibits the Obama Administration from executing an abusive practice, known as “Operation Choke Point,” in which the Department of Justice intimidates banks into refusing or severing financial services to legally operated ammunition and firearms dealers.

            Congratulations on your “A+” rating and endorsement, and thank you for your steadfast support of the Second Amendment. Good luck in your campaign, and we look forward to our continued relationship.

It’s no secret that many Americans are struggling to make ends meet in the Obama economy. Prices are up, wages are flat and job opportunities are leaving our shores.

People want to earn a good living, but the president’s policies are in the way.

I’m working to turn things around with conservative policies that take power away from government and put it back in the hands of individuals and families.

Recently, the Republican Majority has moved closer to achieving our goals. I think it’s important to share good news with you when good things happen. We have:

• lifted an outdated, 20th Century oil export ban. Doing so will help create U.S. jobs and spur economic growth;

• made important tax deductions permanent, which provides certainty for small businesses so they can grow and create jobs;

• put a bill to end Obamacare on President Obama’s desk (He vetoed the bill, but we proved it is possible to repeal Obamacare if we have a Republican in the White House);

• and cut spending by more than $176 billion, knocking the deficit down to its smallest level since 2007.

We must do more, and I believe we will when there’s a new president in the White House in January.

I’ll keep working to get our economy back on track so that your family, and families all across this country, have the opportunity to earn economic security and pursue the American Dream.

Any deal with Iran is a bad deal. Iran has proven, again and again, that it should not — and cannot — be trusted. Dealing with Iran puts our nation and the rest of the world at risk, especially our ally Israel.

To ensure the safety of Americans and the safety of our allies, we must place new sanctions on Iran. They have yet to prove themselves capable of trust to any degree, and until they do, precautions are absolutely necessary.
