It’s no secret that many Americans are struggling to make ends meet in the Obama economy. Prices are up, wages are flat and job opportunities are leaving our shores.
People want to earn a good living, but the president’s policies are in the way.
I’m working to turn things around with conservative policies that take power away from government and put it back in the hands of individuals and families.
Recently, the Republican Majority has moved closer to achieving our goals. I think it’s important to share good news with you when good things happen. We have:
- lifted an outdated, 20th Century oil export ban. Doing so will help create U.S. jobs and spur economic growth;
- made important tax deductions permanent, which provides certainty for small businesses so they can grow and create jobs;
- put a bill to end Obamacare on President Obama’s desk (He vetoed the bill, but we proved it is possible to repeal Obamacare if we have a Republican in the White House);
- and cut spending by more than $176 billion, knocking the deficit down to its smallest level since 2007.
We must do more, and I believe we will when there’s a new president in the White House in January.
I’ll keep working to get our economy back on track so that your family, and families all across this country, have the opportunity to earn economic security and pursue the American Dream.
