‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the state,
Families tuned in the news, and yes, another debate;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
As sounds of political ads were filling the air.
The polls were posted with no margin to spare;
With visions of Hillary and Harry, not Whoville …oh, don’t they care.
The children were frustrated, all dressed in their flannel;
No Frosty, no Rudolph, but campaign spots on each channel.
When out on the lawn, they heard such a clatter,
They ran to the window to see what’s the matter.
When what to their wondering eyes did appear,
but eight energetic, door-to-door volunteers,
Were they there to sing carols in warm winter coats?
No, but instead to remind them to all go and vote.
“Vote for our person, not their person!” they chanted with might;
Ending what would have been such a blissful, snowy night.
With a fury in our step we ran quick to the door,
And told them, “It’s Christmas – please, please… no more!
The mailers and ads are too much to take,
With all due respect, can’t you give us a break?”
So, voters listen and lend us your ear;
Christmas is at risk and must be saved this year.
You must hurry and scurry, make no delay;
To save this Christmas, go vote this Tuesday!

Election Day is Tuesday. David Perdue and Gov. Nathan Deal are leading in the polls, but are just a point or two away from the 50 percent mark needed to avoid a runoff Election. If there was every a time when you ask yourself, “Does my vote really make a difference?” This is the year. Please go and vote on Tuesday, November 4th. A runoff for the Governor’s race will be in early December and the runoff for the U.S. Senate race will be in early January.
Please go vote on Tuesday November 4th. If not, I imagine you will be reading this version of “Twas the Night Before Christmas” to your family.
