Tom Graves is working to see that our nation’s veterans - in this case the first female pilots in the military - receive full honors at Arlington National Cemetery. The legislation “restores inurnment rights for Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASPs) at Arlington National Cemetery. WASPs, a group of less than 1,100 women who flew non-combat missions during World War II, were the first women to fly military aircraft.”

Tom has requested that the U.S. Navy name a ship the USS Chattanooga in honor of the five service members who were killed in the terror attack in Chattanooga last July. Two of the fallen were from Georgia, including Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Randall Smith, who lived in the 14th Congressional District of Georgia.

Graves, who chairs the legislative branch subcommittee of the Appropriations Committee, said the relatively small bill continues a freeze on congressional pay that has been in place since 2010.
“This bill honors and respects taxpayers. It makes tough decisions and stretches every dollar just like families across America do every day,” Graves said in a statement. …
Graves said funding for the House of Representatives has been reduced by 14 percent since Republicans gained control in January 2011.

Jones’ resignation comes amid a firestorm over the ATF’s proposed bullet ban, which was shelved last week after the agency received tens of thousands of public comments opposing the move.
On February 3, 2015, Tom Graves voted to repeal Obamacare. The U.S. House, led by the Republican Majority, passed the bill by a vote of 239-186.
Here’s what Tom said after voting for the repeal bill:
