The United States must have the strongest military in the world. But, as a nation, we fail our troops when we fail to provide them with the resources they need. We have to make certain our military is fully staffed and fully equipped—land, sea, air and cyber.

The world is in turmoil. The Islamic State is still entrenched in the Middle East and looking for ways to attack us here in America and our allies abroad. Putin is lashing out all across the globe. And China is threatening our cyber security.

We cannot afford to be unprepared or ill-equipped. We must stand ready to face our enemies at any time. RIGHT NOW is the time to provide our troops with the resources they need to defend our nation today and prepare for the battles of tomorrow. We simply cannot risk anything less.

Stand with me to make national defense a national priority again.

We need healthcare reform. REAL healthcare reform. Not the top-down mandates from Obamacare that have brought higher premiums, cancelled policies and limited choice to Americans who deserve better.

Instead, we need healthcare reform that puts patients first and expands choice. How do we get there? Step one is repealing Obamacare in its entirety.

Step two is considering reasonable alternative plans. House Republicans are developing patient-centered solutions that:

-preserve personal freedom

-expand choice

-allow people to keep the doctor and health insurance plan they like (remember when our president told us we could do that with his signature healthcare legislation? Turned out to not be so.)

-drive down monthly premiums and deductibles

My House and Georgia colleague Rep. (and Dr.) Tom Price has put forward a plan that makes good sense on many levels and has math that works. And that’s just one suggested Obamacare replacement. I’m proud to say there are many Republican alternatives that are worth serious consideration. And each one is a big improvement over Obamacare.

We CAN have healthcare in this country that works for everyone. With your help, I will do my part to make it happen.

We need better jobs, and more of them. Identifying the biggest problem in the U.S. economy is easy. Coming up with solutions is the hard part.

It’s clear to anyone paying attention that many people have simply dropped out of the job market, are working part-time instead of full-time (not by choice) or haven’t seen a raise in years.

At the core of my conservatism is the belief that we must get the federal government out of the way so that private-sector businesses can grow and create jobs.

Here’s what I’m working to do in Congress:

-reduce regulatory burdens

-make the tax code simple, like the FairTax

-increase competition

-encourage entrepreneurship

-maximize energy production

-pay down the national debt

Any one of these initiatives individually would help our job market and create new opportunities for people who want a chance to earn a better living. But together, they would create an unstoppable force. And that is exactly what we need.
