Graves Statement on Deal's Resignation
(RANGER, GA) – State Rep. Tom Graves (R-Ranger), the leading Republican candidate for Congress in Georgia’s 9th District, released the following statement after last night's resignation of Congressman Deal from Congress:
“Now that Congressman Deal’s resignation is official, Governor Perdue will call for the special election to fulfill the remainder of the term for Georgia’s 9th Congressional District. While the date has yet to be determined, the Graves campaign and the GA-9 Freedom Fighters are prepared whether the election is sooner rather than later. With the vote on health care reform now behind them, Democrats in Washington are emboldened and have indicated they will now turn their attention to passing an amnesty based immigration reform, cap and trade and card check. With the leadership in Washington pursuing a progressive agenda, conservatives must be resolved and push back with all our might in order to preserve freedom for Americans. Julie and I are ready to serve.”
