Graves Raises Over $545,000 for 9th District Campaign
(RANGER, GA) – Demonstrating his continuing momentum, conservative Republican Tom Graves today announced that his campaign raised over $545,000 for his 9th District campaign for Congress, which includes over $155,000 during the first quarter of 2010.
No personal loans or campaign debt will be disclosed by Graves when he files his report Thursday.
“With just under a month until the special election, our campaign is growing because North Georgia is looking for a leader who is proven and tested,” said Graves. “Conservatives want a leader to represent them in Congress who will honor the Constitution, lower taxes, limit government and empower the private sector to create jobs and opportunities for our communities.”
The Federal Election Commission requires candidates for federal office to periodically file campaign finance reports and the report Graves will file later this week covers the period of January 1 through March 31, 2010.
“It’s encouraging to see North Georgia respond to our call to preserve freedom and empower individuals instead of government,” said Graves. “Julie and I are humbled by the support and encouragement our campaign has received. We are grateful for the grassroots supporters and donors who are ensuring we have the resources we need to promote our “principles before politics” message. With 28 days until the special election, we are pleased with our progress and will continue to reach out to each and every voter in the district.”
BY THE NUMBERS:
• Raised in Q1: over $155,000
• Overall raised to date: over $545,000
• Total donors to date: 1,419
• Overall average contribution: $384.07
• Donors not maxed out: 97%
• Personal Loans: $0.00
Graves has been endorsed by FreedomWorks, RedState’s Erick Erickson and the Club for Growth PAC, the nation’s premier free-market, free enterprise group of conservatives. Graves was the first candidate to be certified 100 percent pro-life by the Georgia Right to Life PAC.
The campaign continues to have the largest online presence of any candidate in the congressional race, has over 600 grassroots volunteers, and is the only campaign organized in all 15 counties of the district.
Graves represented the 12th House District from 2003 until March 23, 2010. Graves announced last May that he would seek the 9th District Congressional seat that was vacated by Congressman Nathan Deal, who is running for Governor.
