Graves Raises Over $147,000 in 27 Days for 9th District Campaign
Out raises his opponent 3 to 1 heading into final days
(RANGER, GA) – With less than two weeks before voters return to the polls in the 9th District Special General Election Runoff, fundraising reports filed with the Federal Election Commission today show that conservative Republican Tom Graves is in strong financial shape and out raised his opponent by over $100,000 in the latest fundraising period.
Graves reported $147,036 raised compared to Hawkins’ $46,680. The Republican from Ranger’s total contributions for the cycle are $753,819.
In the crucial days after the May 11th Special General Election, Graves shows an additional $35,920 was brought into his coffers while Hawkins only showed $8,400 in itemized contributions.
“North Georgians are responding to our campaign because we need proven, tested leaders,” said Graves. “It’s time to send Washington a message and show the rest of the Nation that it’s the conservative values that made America great that will get us back on track again!”
The Federal Election Commission required Graves and Hawkins to report their campaign fundraising and disbursement activity for April 22 through May 19, 2010.
Graves finished first in the May 11th Special General Election, receiving 35.4 percent of the vote.
Graves has been endorsed by FreedomWorks, RedState’s Erick Erickson, the Club for Growth PAC, Jim Gilchrist’s Minuteman Project, Congressman Lynn Westmoreland and former 9th District candidates Bert Loftman and Eugene Moon. Graves was the first candidate to be certified 100 percent pro-life by the Georgia Right to Life PAC.
Graves represented the 12th House District from 2003 until March 23, 2010. Graves announced last May that he would seek the 9th District Congressional seat that was vacated by Congressman Nathan Deal, who is running for Governor.
