Graves Endorsed By Minuteman Project
(RANGER, GA) – For his strong record and commitment to stopping illegal immigration and controlling our borders, conservative Republican Tom Graves was endorsed today by Jim Gilchrist’s Minuteman Project.
“Tom was a key leader in drafting what is one of the strongest anti-illegal immigration bills in the country,” said Gilchrist, founder of the Minuteman Project. “Tom knows that ignoring our country’s immigration laws has led, and will lead to further problems for our country. We don’t have to re-invent the wheel. We just have to start enforcing the laws on the books and I am confident that Tom will do that when elected.”
The Minuteman Project, founded in 2004, is a multi-ethnic immigration law enforcement advocacy group.
“Enforcing current law is the first step in stopping the flow of illegal immigration,” said Graves. “Jim Gilchrist and The Minuteman Project brought our broken borders and illegal immigration problem to the forefront and are actively seeking solutions to this crisis. I am proud that Jim Gilchrist endorsed my campaign for Congress and honored to stand shoulder to shoulder with a principled defender of America’s rule of law.”
Graves has campaigned around the 9th District as a leader on combating illegal immigration. In addition to his work on Georgia’s anti-illegal immigration laws, Graves is against any form of amnesty and believes we must secure the border with all available resources.
Graves supports Arizona’s efforts to control the illegal immigrations crisis in their state since the federal government has failed in its responsibility.
Graves finished first in the May 11th Special General Election, receiving 35.4 percent of the vote. Since then he has been endorsed by Rep. Lynn Westmoreland (R-GA), and former 9th District Congressional candidates Bert Loftman and Eugene Moon.
Graves represented the 12th House District from 2003 until March 23, 2010. Graves announced last May that he would seek the 9th District Congressional seat that was vacated by Congressman Nathan Deal, who is running for Governor.
